This SuperPro kit replaces the bushings at the rear mounting point of the front lower control arm. This is the double offset version, so compare it with the standard kit before you order. Control arm bushings hold the arm in place where it bolts to the body or subframe. Once they go soft or split, the wheel shifts under braking and cornering, and you feel it as clunks over bumps, a vague steering wheel and tires that wear unevenly. It suits a daily driver that has started to feel loose, and it is a sensible step for owners who enjoy back roads or the odd track day. If your car clunks over speed bumps, darts under braking or has started eating the edges of its front tires, worn bushings in this area are a likely cause and worth inspecting.

SuperPro bushings: what to know

Parts that usually go with it

  • An alignment after installing new arms or bushings.
  • Matching parts at the other end. Upgrading one side or one link and leaving worn parts elsewhere limits the improvement.
  • Install tools. Pressed-in bushings may need a press or a shop to fit them.

Do I need an alignment after installing this?
If the part changes or affects suspension geometry, yes. It is a good idea after any arm, link or bushing change.
Can I install it myself?
Many bolt-on parts can be installed at home with the right tools and a safe way to support the car. Pressed bushings and anything you are unsure about are best left to a shop.
