Collection: Drop Shackles & Hangers

Belltech drop shackles and hanger kits that lower the rear of leaf-spring trucks and SUVs. Shackle kits mostly drop the rear 1 to 3 inches, and hanger kits 2 to 4 inches. Each listing names the trucks and drop it is made for.

Shackles, hangers or flip kits?

On a leaf-spring truck the rear is lowered by moving where the spring mounts to the frame. Drop shackles replace the rear shackle for a mild drop, usually 1 to 2 inches. Hanger kits move the front spring mount and are used for 2 to 4 inches, often together with new shackles. Bigger drops use a flip kit, and lowering blocks fit between the spring and axle.

Most kits on our store cost $135 to $322, from $77 for a basic shackle kit. Pair a rear drop with drop spindles up front, shorter shocks and bump stops. See lowering blocks, our truck lowering pages for the Silverado and Sierra, F-150 and C10, and what a C-notch is.

Drop Shackles & Hangers FAQ

How much do drop shackles lower a truck?
Most shackle kits on our store are listed for 1 to 3 inches of rear drop. Check the exact drop in each listing.
Do I need new shocks with drop shackles?
For drops over about 2 inches, shorter shocks keep the shock from bottoming out. Belltech lists matching shocks for many trucks.
Do I need a C-notch?
Usually only on bigger rear drops, around 4 inches or more, where the axle can hit the frame.
