Collection: Ford F-150 Suspension Parts

Every F-150 suspension part we list in one place: shocks, leveling and lift kits, lowering kits, towing air springs, control arms and sway bars for 1980 and newer trucks. Brands include Belltech, Bilstein, Air Lift, Camburg, Ford Performance and BDS. Prices run from $49 spacers to $4,588 complete lift kits. Match years, 2WD or 4WD and cab in each title.

The F-150 in one view

This page pulls together every F-150 part we list: shocks, leveling kits, lift kits, lowering kits, towing air springs, control arms and sway bars. Fitment changes with each generation, and often with 2WD or 4WD, cab and bed length, so match the years and the drivetrain in the title before you order.

Level, lift or lower your F-150

From the factory the F-150 sits nose-down so the rear has room to squat under a load. What you do about that decides which parts you need.

Leveling

A leveling kit raises only the front, usually about 2 in, to take out the rake. Strut spacers from Body Armor and Belltech are the cheap route at $121 to $189, but they keep your factory strut. Belltech Trail Performance leveling struts ($155.40 each) and leveling coilovers ($778.80) replace it, so you get new damping and adjustable height. The Ford Performance Fox 2.0 IFP leveling kit for 2015 to 2020 trucks is $1,645.26. Our F-150 leveling kit guide goes deeper.

Lifting

Past about 3 in, a lift needs more than front height. Complete kits such as the Belltech 5 to 7 in Trail Performance kits ($2,718 to $4,588) add the struts, brackets and rear parts that keep geometry in range. Height-adjustable lift coilovers run $810 to $958.80. Read leveling kit vs lift kit if you are between the two.

Lowering

Lowered F-150s use a front drop (spindles, lowering struts or coilovers) and a rear drop (shackles, hangers or a flip kit). Belltech titles list the drop as front and rear, such as 2 in or 3 in front and 4 in rear on 2009 to 2013 kits. Complete Belltech kits with Street Performance shocks run $558 to $1,779. Big rear drops can need a C-notch, so see what a C-notch is first.

Shocks

For a stock-height or leveled truck, Bilstein B6 4600 front shocks run $123 to $165 and B8 5100 ride-height-adjustable fronts run $176 to $245.85. The ride-height-adjustable 5100 can level the truck on its own; the 2014 RWD version lists 0 to 2.1 in of lift. For 2015 to 2024 4WD trucks, Bilstein also lists 8100 rear shocks ($655.54 to $856.18) and 8112 ZoneControl front coilovers at $1,214.26 per side. Compare them in Bilstein 5100 vs 5160 and browse Bilstein 5100 shocks.

What else a lifted or lowered F-150 needs

  • Upper control arms. Raising the front changes upper ball joint angle and camber. Aftermarket arms bring back alignment range: the Whiteline front upper arms are $571.20, and Camburg KINETIK arms start at $1,783.98. Browse control arms.
  • Rear height to match. A front lift above leveling height usually wants a rear block or new rear shocks. BRBN lists a 2 in rear lift block at $189.99, and Belltech lists rear shocks sized for lifted trucks.
  • Shock extensions and drop shocks for lowered trucks, such as the Belltech 1997 to 2003 shock extension kits at $89 to $96. See drop shackles and hangers and drop spindles.
  • Bump stops to stop a lowered truck from hitting the frame. Browse bump stops.
  • Sway bars. Belltech front and rear bars run $365 to $489, or $978 for a 2021 and up front and rear set. Adjustable end links help after a height change: read sway bar end links explained.

Known F-150 quirks

  • Raptor is its own truck. Many spacers and arms say "excludes Raptor". Raptor parts we list include Camburg 2017 to 2020 arms and Air Lift kits for the 2021 to 2024 Gen III.
  • 2WD and 4WD differ. Belltech lowering struts, drop spindles and coilovers come in 2WD and 4WD versions, and the drop spindles we list are 2WD only.
  • Cab and bed length matter for lowering. Belltech 2009 to 2013 kits are split by regular, extended and quad cab, and by short bed.
  • Adaptive dampers. The BDS 6 in strut spacer kit for 2021 to 2022 trucks is listed as CCD only, so check whether your truck has Ford's electronic dampers.
  • PowerBoost hybrids have their own Air Lift kits, so do not assume a standard 2021 kit fits.
  • 2004 Heritage. The 2004 Heritage is the older 10th-gen truck, so it takes 1997 to 2003 parts.

Install and alignment notes

Strut spacers and leveling struts are a driveway job with a jack, stands and a spring compressor, or an easy job for a shop. Complete lift kits that drop the front suspension, and lowering kits with flip kits or C-notches, are best done by a shop. After any height change, get an alignment. Plan tire size first with the tire size calculator.

Ford F-150 Suspension Parts FAQ

What is the best suspension upgrade for an F-150?
It depends on the goal. For a stock-height truck, Bilstein 5100 front shocks ($176 to $245.85) are the common first upgrade; to take out the rake, a leveling strut or kit ($114.99 to $1,645.26) is next.
How much does it cost to level an F-150?
Strut spacers cost $121 to $189, Belltech leveling struts are $155.40 each and Belltech leveling coilovers are $778.80. The Ford Performance Fox leveling kit for 2015 to 2020 trucks is $1,645.26.
Will a leveling kit affect my F-150's ride?
Spacers keep the factory strut, so ride stays close to stock but with less droop travel. Replacing the strut with a leveling strut or coilover lets you change damping too.
Do I need upper control arms after lifting an F-150?
On a small level you usually do not. On bigger lifts, aftermarket upper arms such as Whiteline ($571.20) or Camburg KINETIK ($1,783.98 and up) restore camber range and ball joint angle.
How low can you lower an F-150?
Belltech kits list drops up to about 3 in front and 5 to 5.5 in rear, depending on year, cab and bed. Big rear drops may need a C-notch and bump stops.
Do F-150 Raptor parts fit a regular F-150?
No. The Raptor has its own suspension, and many F-150 spacers and arms say "excludes Raptor". Buy parts that list your Raptor generation.
Do I need an alignment after changing F-150 ride height?
Yes. Any lift, level or drop changes camber and toe, so get an alignment once the truck is at its final height.
