Fitment coverage

Our Hellwig stock splits three ways. Classic cars get front bars for Mopar A, B and E bodies, early Mustangs and Fairlanes, plus a rear bar for GM A-bodies. Trucks and SUVs get bars for the Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon, Silverado and Sierra HD, older F-150, Ram HD, Tundra and Tacoma. Early Broncos get two front bar kits sized by lift height. Some of our listings give only the part number, so match the number above to your vehicle.

How to choose a Hellwig part

Front bar, rear bar or both

Hellwig explains that a sway bar resists body roll in corners by linking the left and right wheels. On a truck or SUV, a thicker rear bar usually makes the biggest difference when towing or carrying a camper, because it cuts rear sway. On a classic car, a front bar kit is the common first upgrade, and many older cars came with a thin bar or none at all.

Match the lift height

Several bars are sized for a ride height: the Bronco kits come in 0 to 2 in and 3 to 4 in versions, the Tacoma rear bar is for 0 to 2 in of lift, and the GM HD rear kit is for 2 to 4 in of rear lift. The wrong version puts the end links at a bad angle. Our adjustable end links guide explains why.

Big Wig bars

Big Wig is Hellwig's name for its largest bars. The 7266 is a 1-5/16 in rear bar for 2007-2009 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks, including dually models.

Helper springs

The 9712 contact helper spring is a no-drill kit that our listing rates for up to 2,000 lbs of support. It works with the factory leaf springs to reduce sag under load.

Hellwig vs alternatives we carry

For trucks that tow, Air Lift air spring kits are the main alternative to a Hellwig helper spring. LoadLifter 5000 kits for the F-250 and F-350 cost $483.99 to $724.99 on our store and let you adjust support with air pressure, but they need an air line and checking. A Hellwig contact spring has nothing to inflate. For sway bars, Whiteline and Belltech offer bars for many newer cars and trucks that we don't stock in Hellwig.
