Who Firestone is
Firestone air springs are made by Firestone Airide, a division of Firestone Industrial Products Company. Its site says Firestone patented the air spring in 1938 and now designs and builds air springs in 10 countries for cars, trucks, trailers, buses and off-highway equipment. For pickup and SUV owners, its aftermarket line is the Ride-Rite family of air helper spring kits, sold to level a truck when you tow or haul.
Our Firestone range is small, with 15 listings. Below is what we carry and where to find more kits for your truck.

Ride-Rite vs Coil-Rite: how to choose
The choice comes down to your rear suspension.
- Ride-Rite is the pickup kit. Firestone says it covers most half-ton, three-quarter-ton and one-ton trucks with a model-specific bolt-on kit that installs between the axle and frame. Pick it for regular towing or a camper.
- Coil-Rite is for cars, minivans, SUVs, light trucks and RVs with rear coil springs. Firestone says the air spring fits inside the stock coil, so it is a lighter-duty, lower-cost kit.
- Sport-Rite sits between the two in load support here, rated to 3,000 lbs on its listing.
Air helper springs do not raise your payload or towing rating. They keep the truck level under load so the headlights, steering and braking stay closer to normal.
Add a compressor or not
Firestone says adding an Air Command compressor kit gives you wireless or analog control from a remote, an app or a switch. The mounting kits on this page hold that compressor and tank in place.
Fitment coverage
Most Firestone listings here are sold by kit number, and the Ride-Rite kit 2407 is listed for the Toyota Tacoma. Look up the Firestone kit number for your truck, then match it here. For kits listed by truck from all brands, use these pages:

Firestone vs Air Lift
Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 is the closest match to Ride-Rite for pickups, and we list over 200 of them, most from about $243 to $857. Air Lift 1000 kits are the coil spring alternative to Coil-Rite. Air Lift has far wider truck-by-truck coverage in our catalog, so check both brands for your truck.
Install notes
- Check the clearance listed on the kit. One Ride-Rite listing here needs at least 7.5 in of tire to frame clearance.
- Follow the minimum unloaded pressure given in the kit instructions.
- Recheck ride height after you add a load, then set pressure to bring the truck level.
Warranty terms are set by each brand, so check Firestone's terms for your kit.
