Classic rear-drive Volvos use a well-located live axle, and the upper trailing arm bushings are a key part of that. When they wear, the axle can twist and shift, which shows up as clunks, axle tramp and a rear end that feels loose. This SuperPro kit replaces the upper bushings across a long run of Volvos, from the 122 and the 1800 through the 140 and 164 series to the 240 and 260 families. It suits restorations, daily-driven classics and cars built for track or rally use.

What else to plan for

  • An alignment after installing new arms or bushings.
  • Matching parts at the other end. Upgrading one side or one link and leaving worn parts elsewhere limits the improvement.
  • Install tools. Pressed-in bushings may need a press or a shop to fit them.
