This SuperPro kit replaces the rear panhard rod bushings on 1984-1987 Toyota Corollas, including the FX16 and Sport GTS versions. These cars are popular for restoration and grassroots motorsport, and fresh panhard bushings help keep the rear axle where it belongs.

The panhard rod is a simple link, but it carries all the side load on the axle. Worn bushings at either end let the axle move before the rod takes up the load, which you feel as a shimmy or a delayed reaction to steering input.

A panhard rod, also called a track bar, stops a solid axle from shifting sideways under the body. When ride height changes, the factory rod can pull the axle off center, which hurts handling and makes the vehicle feel unsettled on uneven ground. An adjustable or heavier rod lets you center the axle again.

Key features

  • Rear panhard rod position
  • Presented as a higher quality, quieter and longer lasting alternative to rubber

What else to plan for

  • An alignment after installing new arms or bushings.
  • Matching parts at the other end. Upgrading one side or one link and leaving worn parts elsewhere limits the improvement.
  • Install tools. Pressed-in bushings may need a press or a shop to fit them.
