The TR6 and Stag hang their differential from the body on rubber mounts, and after fifty years many of them are cracked or collapsed. That lets the diff move under power, causing clunks and a vague rear. This SuperPro kit renews the mounts for owners restoring or regularly driving these classic Triumphs.

Engine and driveline mounts control how much the heavy parts of the car can move under load. When they wear, you feel it as clunks on and off the throttle, extra vibration and a vague, rubbery response when you accelerate. New mount bushings reduce that movement so the drivetrain stays in place.

Pressed-in bushings often need a hydraulic press or a shop with the right tools, so plan the job accordingly. It is good practice to tighten pivot bolts with the suspension at normal ride height rather than hanging, and to have the alignment checked once the work is done.

Parts that usually go with it

  • An alignment after installing new arms or bushings.
  • Matching parts at the other end. Upgrading one side or one link and leaving worn parts elsewhere limits the improvement.
  • Install tools. Pressed-in bushings may need a press or a shop to fit them.
