SPF2156K is a panhard rod bushing kit for renewing the bushings at each end of the rod that keeps the axle centered. This is a sensible choice for owners renewing a loose or clunking rear axle.

Worn track bar bushings let the axle shift sideways, which can feel like the rear is steering itself over bumps or in lane changes. Because the rod is loaded every time the body leans, its bushings work hard on vehicles driven briskly. A panhard rod, also called a track bar, keeps the axle centered under the body from side to side. Fresh bushings help the axle stay put, giving more consistent handling on uneven roads. Renewing the bushings at both ends keeps the rod properly located. Confirm compatibility with the manufacturer's application data before ordering.

Suspension bolts are usually given their final tightening with the vehicle at ride height, so the bushings are not left preloaded in a twisted position.

About this bushing kit

Worn or soft bushings let the suspension move in ways it shouldn't. Fresh or firmer bushings make steering and braking feel more precise.

What else to plan for

  • An alignment after installing new arms or bushings.
  • Matching parts at the other end. Upgrading one side or one link and leaving worn parts elsewhere limits the improvement.
  • Install tools. Pressed-in bushings may need a press or a shop to fit them.

Do I need an alignment after installing this?
If the part changes or affects suspension geometry, yes. It is a good idea after any arm, link or bushing change.
Can I install it myself?
Many bolt-on parts can be installed at home with the right tools and a safe way to support the car. Pressed bushings and anything you are unsure about are best left to a shop.
Where do specs and warranty details come from?
