This Prothane stabilizer bar bushing replaces a worn sway bar bushing so the bar is held firmly to the chassis again. It suits street cars and trucks with clunking or loose sway bars.

Fresh bushings help the bar respond as soon as the body starts to roll, which keeps the vehicle flatter through corners. How firmly the bar is held affects how the vehicle balances front to rear in a corner. Because the bar ties both sides together, a worn part on one side affects how the whole axle behaves. The bar can only do its job if its mounts and links hold it firmly; worn bushings let it shift and knock before it starts working. Clunks over speed bumps or broken pavement are a common sign that sway bar bushings have worn or dried out. Sway bar hardware is a relatively low-cost job that often brings a noticeable change in how the vehicle feels on a winding road. Confirm compatibility with the manufacturer's application data before ordering.
