What the Bilstein 6112 is
The Bilstein B8 6112 is a front coilover kit for trucks and SUVs that use a coilover front suspension from the factory. Bilstein's own page says each kit has two 60mm shocks with a 60mm digressive piston, two matched coil springs and two billet hard-anodized spring seats, and that it bolts into the factory mounts. Several snap-ring grooves on the body let you set the spring seat height for 0 to 2.75 inches of front lift, depending on the truck. Bilstein says the 6112 is made in the USA.
Bilstein is best known for monotube gas shocks, and the 6112 sits above its popular 5100 series for truck owners who want to level the front and upgrade the shocks and springs in one go.

Bilstein 6112 vs 5100 vs 8112
| Option | What you get | Lift | Our prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| B8 5100 ride height adjustable | 46mm monotube shock, reuses your factory spring | Small front level, set by spring seat position | About $176 to $252 per front shock |
| B8 6112 | 60mm shock with new matched spring and billet seat, front pair | 0 to 2.75 in (up to 3.1 in on the Tundra kit) | $1,027.20 to $1,087.20 per front kit |
| B8 8112 ZoneControl | Bilstein's higher-end ZoneControl front coilover, sold per side | Varies by truck | $1,429.40 to $1,584 per corner |
- Pick the 5100 if your factory springs are fine and you want a modest level for the least money. See Bilstein 5100 shocks.
- Pick the 6112 if you carry weight up front, run bigger tires or have sagging factory springs. In Off-Road.com's back-to-back test, the bigger body held more oil and rode smoother at speed than a standard shock, with a little more body roll on pavement.
- Pick the 8112 if you want Bilstein's top-tier option for hard off-road driving and the budget allows.
Our Bilstein 5100 vs 5160 guide covers the rear shock side of the lineup.
Matching the rear
A 6112 kit only replaces the front. Pair it with rear shocks sized for the new stance. For the 2022+ Tundra we list the Bilstein B8 6100 rear shock at $287 and a Bilstein B12 rear coil spring set with 1 in lift at $350 for trucks that want a little rear lift too. More options are on our Tundra suspension page.
Alternatives we carry
ReadyLIFT leveling kit: for a 2022-2025 Tundra, the ReadyLIFT leveling kit is $385.99 and keeps your factory shocks. It is much cheaper, but you do not get the shock and spring upgrade. Fox: our Fox shocks page has 2.5 coilovers and reservoir shocks if you want adjustable damping.
What else you'll need
- A proper strut spring compressor, or a shop. Off-Road.com notes the large body needs one.
- An alignment after install, since the front height and camber change.
- Upper control arms if you set the kit near its maximum lift and the ball joint runs out of angle.
- Tires checked with our tire size calculator.
Warranty terms are set by each brand, so check Bilstein's terms before you buy.
