Silverado Leveling Kits by Generation (1999 to 2026)

The right Silverado leveling kit depends on which generation you drive. A 1999-2006 4WD truck levels with torsion bar keys, a 2007-2018 truck (plus the 2019 LD) levels with a strut spacer or leveling strut, and a 2019-2026 truck needs parts made for its own strut, with separate parts for Trail Boss and ZR2 trims.

Most Silverado and Sierra 1500 leveling parts on our store cost $40 to $778.80, from a 2 inch strut spacer up to a Belltech leveling coilover kit. Shop Silverado and Sierra lift and leveling kits. Deciding between a level and a lift? Read Silverado leveling kit vs lift kit.

Find your generation first

Years overlap at every changeover, so check the body style too. The 2007 "Classic" is the old GMT800 truck, the 2019 Silverado LD is the old K2XX truck, and the 2022 Silverado LTD is the pre-refresh fourth-generation truck.

Years Generation Front leveling method What to watch
1999-2006, 2007 Classic GMT800 4WD: torsion bar keys. 2WD: coil spring spacers Old aftermarket support, check 2WD vs 4WD
2007-2013 GMT900 Strut spacer, leveling strut or leveling coilover Shares many kits with the next generation
2014-2018, 2019 LD K2XX Strut spacer, leveling strut, Bilstein 5100 or coilover Magnetic Ride Denali trucks need their own kit
2019-2026 Fourth generation (2022 refresh) Strut spacer, leveling strut, Bilstein 5100 or coilover Trail Boss, ZR2, AT4, AT4X and adaptive dampers

Chevrolet showed an all-new Silverado in June 2026, with sales expected late in the year. Do not assume 2019-2026 parts carry over to it.

1999-2006 GMT800

On 4WD trucks the front ride height is set by torsion bars. A leveling kit for these trucks is a pair of re-indexed torsion keys that wind up the torsion bars to raise the front. 2WD trucks use coil springs, so they level with a spacer that sits on top of the spring instead. Superlift's 2 inch 2WD kit uses coil spring and shock extensions and lists a 32 inch maximum tire.

Be careful with listings for this generation. The Belltech torsion keys we carry for 1999-2006 trucks are built to lower a torsion bar truck by 1 to 3 inches, not raise it. For these trucks we mostly carry lowering and load parts, like the Air Lift Loadlifter 5000 for 1999-2007 half-tons at $538.95.

2007-2018 GMT900 and K2XX

These two generations use a front coilover strut, and many parts fit both. Rough Country's 2 inch kit lists 2007-2018 Silverado and Sierra 1500s plus the 2019 Silverado LD, 2WD and 4WD. Your options:

Rough Country's standard kit does not fit 2014-2018 Denali and Denali Ultimate trucks with Magnetic Ride Control. Those need their own kit.

2019-2026 fourth generation

The 2019 redesign is a different truck, and 2007-2018 kits are not listed for it. Kits from Rough Country and Belltech list 2019 through 2026, so the 2022 refresh did not split fitment. Belltech's 0 to 2 inch lifting strut is $149, and the 2019-2024 Bilstein 5100 front is $181 each for 0 to 2.5 inches.

Trims matter more here than on any older truck. Rough Country's 2019-2026 spacer kit excludes:

  • LT Trail Boss, Custom Trail Boss and AT4, because they already have a 2 inch factory lift.
  • ZR2 and AT4X, which have the factory lift plus Multimatic DSSV dampers.
  • Denali and Denali Ultimate trucks with Adaptive Ride Control, and Super Cruise trucks. Its optional N3 struts also do not fit diesels.

Belltech's leveling coilover does not fit trucks with ARC or Magnetic Ride shocks, and Trail Boss or Elevation trucks with the factory lift will not gain the full height. For those trims, buy parts that name them, like the Bilstein 5100 for the Trail Boss at $251.85 or the Zone Offroad kit at $653.99, which adds 1.75 inches on Trail Boss and AT4 and 1.5 inches on ZR2 and AT4X.

Heavy duty trucks

Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD trucks use torsion bar front suspension, so they level with torsion keys. Daystar's 2 inch keys for 2011-2019 4WD HD trucks require extended front shocks, and ReadyLift makes keys for the revised 2020-and-up HD trucks. For 2001-2010 HD trucks we carry the Belltech 1 to 3 inch lift front shock at $79.95.

Install and cost by type

Part type Our price range Install difficulty
Torsion keys (1999-2006 4WD, HD) Leveling keys not stocked Easiest. Keys swap and the bars are re-adjusted
Strut spacer $40 to $121 Moderate. Strut comes out, spacer bolts on top
Leveling strut or Bilstein 5100 $149 to $251.85 each Moderate to hard. The Bilstein reuses your spring
Leveling coilover kit $775 to $778.80 Moderate. Comes preassembled

Most are a few hours with good tools. The Bilstein 5100 needs your factory spring moved over with a proper spring compressor, so many owners use a shop. Add an alignment to any of them.

Common mistakes

  • Buying by year only. 2007, 2019 and 2022 each had two trucks on sale.
  • Leveling a factory-lifted trim with a standard kit. You may gain nothing, or the part may not fit.
  • Ignoring tow use. If you tow, look at towing air bags too.
  • Skipping tire checks. Rough Country notes some kits need a 0.25 inch spacer to keep factory wheels. Run your size through the tire size calculator.

FAQ

Do 2007-2018 Silverado leveling kits fit a 2019?

Only the 2019 Silverado LD, which is the older truck. The redesigned 2019 needs parts listed for 2019 and newer.

How do I level a 1999-2006 Silverado?

On a 4WD truck, use leveling torsion keys. On a 2WD truck, use a coil spring spacer made for that truck.

Can I level a Trail Boss or ZR2?

Yes, but only with parts made for those trims. Standard kits either exclude them or will not add the full height because of the 2 inch factory lift.

Will a leveling kit fit a Denali?

Check the shock type first. Kits for standard struts usually exclude Denali trucks with Magnetic Ride or Adaptive Ride Control.

Do I need an alignment after leveling?

Yes. Raising the front changes toe and camber.
