Collection: Toyota 4Runner Lift Kits

This page covers over 40 lift kits and lift springs for the Toyota 4Runner, from rear coil spring kits to complete front and rear systems. Eibach Pro-Truck and Pro-Lift kits make up about half the range, with Skyjacker, ICON, MaxTrac, KYB and Pedders filling out the rest.

Which generation do you have?

  • 1984-1989 first generation (1984-1985 solid front axle, IFS from 1986)
  • 1990-1995 second generation
  • 1996-2002 third generation, which shares some front parts with the 1995-2004 Tacoma
  • 2003-2009 fourth generation
  • 2010-2024 fifth generation, including TRD Pro
  • 2025 sixth generation, including the 2.4L turbo hybrid

Many Eibach kits are sold front or rear only, and some are specific to TRD Pro or hybrid trucks. Match the exact years, trim, drivetrain and position on each listing.

How to choose

On every IFS 4Runner the front lift sets the limit. Around 2.5 to 3 inches of front lift is the practical ceiling before CV boots and upper ball joints start working at steep angles. On 4WD trucks a differential drop kit, like the one listed here, lowers the front diff to reduce CV angle, and an upper control arm kit such as the Skyjacker 3in UCA system corrects alignment and ball joint angle.

A spring lift, like Eibach Pro-Truck springs or ICON dual rate rear coils, holds its ride better than a spacer because the rate suits the extra height. If you carry a rear drawer system, a roof rack or a bumper, pick a heavier rear spring so the truck sits level once loaded. Fifth-generation trucks with KDSS need parts confirmed for that system, so check the listing notes.

Price range

Prices run from about $65 for single parts to about $1,900 for the most complete systems, with the typical kit near $290.

FAQ

Do these kits fit the Tacoma or FJ Cruiser?

Some do. A few 4Runner kits also list the 1995-2004 Tacoma, the FJ Cruiser or the Lexus GX470, and the listing title says so when they share parts.

Do I need new shocks with lift springs?

Often yes. Several Eibach spring kits state they must be used with matching Pro-Truck shocks, since stock shocks are valved and sized for the stock height.
