Free Assetto Corsa modpacks for drifting
An Assetto Corsa modpack is simply a set of cars and tracks you install together so you are ready to drift, online or offline. This page collects every free Assetto Corsa drift mod we list: more than 300 drift tracks, over 100 car packs and nearly 200 single drift cars, all priced at $0. Rather than downloading one giant bundle you cannot control, you can build a modpack that fits your PC, your skill level and the servers you join. Below we show how to put one together, the best Assetto Corsa drift mods by type, and the two tools that make installing them easy.
Build your own Assetto Corsa drift modpack
A good starter modpack covers one car pack and four or five tracks of different styles. That gives you a car you can learn and enough variety to keep practice interesting. Here is a balanced starting point, all free:
| Slot | Free pick | Why it belongs |
|---|---|---|
| Street car pack | BDC Street V5 | Reworked street drift physics and 10 new cars in V5 |
| Pro car pack | VDC 4.0 | Competition-grade cars set up to mirror real pro cars |
| Practice map | Drift Playground | Compact classic for angle and throttle control |
| Real Japanese venue | Ebisu Minami | The famous South Course at Ebisu Circuit |
| Real US venue | Lanier Raceway | 8 layouts and night lighting |
| Touge | Project Touge | Narrow mountain pass with hairpins |
| Comp layout | DCGP11 Long Beach | Wall-heavy street comp layout |
Once that feels comfortable, swap in new tracks one or two at a time. Adding everything at once makes Content Manager slower to browse and makes it harder to spot a broken install.

Drift car packs
Car packs split into street spec and pro spec. Street packs such as WDT Street Spec, the NStyle car pack and Gravy Garage 2.0 are tuned like real street builds and are friendlier to learn. Pro and league packs such as VDC 4.0, BDC V4 and Death Wish Garage (DWG) 3.0 suit comp servers. Note that BDC V4 needs the Japanese Pack DLC. Real drift venues
Practising a track you have seen on video, or plan to drive, is one of the best reasons to mod the game. Free picks include Sportsland Yamanashi, Orlando Speed World (OSW Drift), ESDA Englishtown and VDC Mondello Park.
Touge and mountain roads
Touge maps put you on narrow, twisting roads with big elevation changes. Beyond Project Touge, try Ebisu Touge Course or the huge free-roam Great State of Touge, which has more than 70 km of road in its free version.
Competition and league layouts
League layouts from series such as DCGP, VDC, ISDCC and ESDA let you run the same lines as sim drift competitors. They are usually wall-heavy and set up for tandems, so pair them with a pro spec car.
Practice parks and fun maps
Original drift parks such as Pine Valley Drift Park, with six comp layouts plus an open layout, are ideal for learning. For lighter sessions with friends, blocky maps like Minecraft World are pure fun.
Content Manager and CSP basics
Two free community tools make modded Assetto Corsa far easier. Content Manager is a custom launcher and content manager for the game. You can drag a downloaded archive onto it to install a track or car, pick layouts and skins, and join online servers. The free Lite version is enough for installing mods; a paid full version unlocks newer features and pre-release builds. Custom Shaders Patch (CSP) is an extension for Assetto Corsa that started as a way to add dynamic lighting and now also brings weather effects, particle effects and physics extensions. Many modern drift tracks use CSP for night lighting, rain, grass and other effects, and some will not look right without it. Content Manager can install and update CSP for you.
How to install Assetto Corsa downloads
- Install Content Manager and, if you have not already, Custom Shaders Patch.
- Download the free mod from its listing and unzip it.
- Drag the archive onto Content Manager to install it. To do it by hand, copy track folders into assettocorsa/content/tracks and car folders into assettocorsa/content/cars.
- Open Content Manager, choose your car and track, and start a practice session or join a server.
If a track does not appear or shows missing textures, the folder is usually one level too deep or CSP is missing. Our full guide on how to install Assetto Corsa mods covers these fixes step by step.
Keeping your modpack organised
A modpack grows fast once you start collecting free Assetto Corsa downloads. Keep it manageable by adding a few mods at a time and test-driving each one before you add the next, so you know which download caused a problem if something breaks. Delete tracks you never drive; Content Manager loads faster with a tidy content folder. If you join online servers, keep the exact versions those servers use, because a different version of the same track or car can stop you from joining. Finally, keep the original archives in one folder so you can reinstall quickly after a game reinstall.
Assetto Corsa drifting tips for new drivers
- Start with a lower-power street car; it is easier to feel the rear of the car move.
- Learn one compact track well before collecting dozens of maps.
- Run a few slow laps on any new track to find entries and clipping points.
- Use replays to see where your line runs wide, then fix one corner at a time.
- When your solo runs are consistent, join a server and practise following in tandem.
