Assetto Corsa drift cars: every free pack
A good car matters more than any track. The stock Assetto Corsa cars can drift, but community drift car packs are tuned for it, with physics, setups and sounds aimed at sliding. This collection lists seven free Assetto Corsa drift car packs. Each is a single download that adds a set of cars to your game, so you can try a whole style of car in one go. The table compares them using what each creator says in their release notes.
| Car pack | Style | Creator | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| BDC Street V5 | Street spec | BDC Merky and BDC RiiLAND | New physics, 10 new cars, new sounds and tuning options |
| WDT Street Spec (WDTS) | Street spec | WDT | Highly tuned street cars with real-world inspired setups |
| NStyle (N-Style Street Cars) | Street spec | Tsujigiri | Street-tuned cars for freestyle and casual drifting |
| Gravy Garage 2.0 | Street and modified | Gravy Garage | Each car has its own handling character |
| VDC 4.0 | Pro spec | VDC | Competition-grade cars that mirror real pro cars |
| BDC V4 | Pro spec | BDC RiiLAND, BDC MerKy and BDC | Needs the Japanese Pack DLC |
| Death Wish Garage (DWG) 3.0 | League pack | Death Wish Garage | Part 1 of the DWG 3.0 public release |
Street spec drift car packs
Street spec cars are set up like real street drift builds: less power and grip than a pro car, and more forgiving at the limit. That makes them the best Assetto Corsa drifting cars for learning, and for relaxed street and touge sessions. BDC Street V5 is the most detailed of the street packs, with reworked tyres, suspension and inertia. WDT Street Spec and the NStyle car pack lean into street car culture, and Gravy Garage 2.0 mixes street and modified cars, each with its own feel.
Pro spec and league drift packs
Pro packs bring big power and grip, closer to the cars in professional competition. VDC 4.0 is built around competition cars, and BDC V4 is tuned for tandems and big angle; note that BDC V4 needs the official Japanese Pack DLC from Steam. Death Wish Garage 3.0 is the first part of the team's DWG 3.0 public release. If you drive on league servers, check which pack the server uses before you join.
Is there a JDM car pack?
None of these packs is sold as a JDM-only pack, and most creators do not publish full car lists. If you want Japanese cars specifically, install a pack and filter the car list in Content Manager by brand. BDC V4 relies on cars from the official Japanese Pack DLC, so it is a natural fit for JDM fans who own that DLC.
How to choose a drift car pack
- New to drifting: pick a street spec pack. Lower power makes it easier to feel the car.
- Comp servers: use the pack the server lists, usually a pro or league pack.
- Tight and touge tracks: street cars are easier to place on narrow roads.
- Big, fast tracks: pro cars hold angle at speed on open circuits.
Where to drive your new cars
Pair street packs with compact or street maps like Drift Playground or the Long Beach drift track, and take pro packs to comp layouts like Lanier Raceway. Browse all our free Assetto Corsa drift tracks to find more.
Content Manager and CSP basics
Two free community tools make modded Assetto Corsa far easier. Content Manager is a custom launcher and content manager for the game. You can drag a downloaded archive onto it to install a track or car, pick layouts and skins, and join online servers. The free Lite version is enough for installing mods; a paid full version unlocks newer features and pre-release builds. Custom Shaders Patch (CSP) is an extension for Assetto Corsa that started as a way to add dynamic lighting and now also brings weather effects, particle effects and physics extensions. Many modern drift tracks use CSP for night lighting, rain, grass and other effects, and some will not look right without it. Content Manager can install and update CSP for you.
How to install Assetto Corsa downloads
- Install Content Manager and, if you have not already, Custom Shaders Patch.
- Download the free mod from its listing and unzip it.
- Drag the archive onto Content Manager to install it. To do it by hand, copy track folders into assettocorsa/content/tracks and car folders into assettocorsa/content/cars.
- Open Content Manager, choose a car from the pack and a track, and start a practice session or join a server.
If a track does not appear or shows missing textures, the folder is usually one level too deep or CSP is missing. Our full guide on how to install Assetto Corsa mods covers these fixes step by step.
Assetto Corsa car downloads: what you actually get
Each download on this page is an archive of car folders, one per car, with the model, physics, sounds and skins inside. Car counts are not always published, so open the pack in Content Manager after installing to see every car and skin. Some creators also add skins later as separate downloads; BDC Street V5, for example, mentions planned skin packs. A few tracks come with cars too: KB3K House of RWD includes bonus cars, among them an RC car body and a drift kart. If a car shows up without sound or with a missing texture, reinstalling the pack usually fixes it.
Get more from a new car pack
Try each car on a track you know before taking it online, so you learn the car rather than the corners. Drive it as delivered first, then use the setup screen to adjust things like tyre pressures where the car allows. If you also drift in real life, our coilovers are a common first upgrade.
