Assetto Corsa Modpacks: How to Build a Free Drift Mod Pack (2026)

An Assetto Corsa modpack is a group of mods meant to be installed together: usually a car pack plus a set of tracks, or a league's full season of layouts and cars. Instead of collecting single mods one by one, you load a matched set so that everyone on a server, or every session you run on your own, uses the same files.

You can build a solid drift modpack without paying a cent. Every track and car pack in our Assetto Corsa drift mods collection is a free download, credited to the crew or creator who made it. Below we explain the main types of pack, how league drifters put one together for a server, and a starter drift modpack you can install tonight.

What an Assetto Corsa modpack is

"Modpack" is a loose term. People use it for anything from one car pack to a full folder of tracks, cars, skins and setups. In drift circles you will mostly run into four kinds:

Pack type What is in it Who makes it Example from our listings
Car pack A matched set of drift cars with shared physics and sounds A crew or league BDC Street V5
Track pack or multi-track map Several layouts or tracks in one download A track creator KC Complex, five tracks on one map
League pack The cars and season layouts a league runs on its servers A league VDC 4.0 plus VDC layouts
Tracks plus cars A track that ships with bonus cars A track creator ULTRACE Next Level Drift with a FUMI car pack

The common thread is consistency: content made to work together.

Car packs, track packs and league packs

Car packs

A car pack is where most modpacks start. The cars in a pack share a physics philosophy, so a tandem between two of them feels fair. Street spec packs such as WDT Street Spec aim for the feel of a real street build. Pro spec packs such as VDC 4.0 are modeled on competition machines with more power and grip. Our guide to Assetto Corsa drift car packs covers every pack we list in detail.

Track packs

Some creators put several tracks or layouts in one download. Ebisu Complex by Perma puts the Ebisu venue into one seamless map, from the fast Nishi Course to the technical Touge Course. Silver Dollar Motorsports Park ships with skid pad layouts, a hotlap layout, a drag strip with quarter-mile timing and a road course comp layout.

League packs

A league pack is the set of files a league runs for its events. The point is that every driver has identical content. The Drift Championship Grand Prix season 11 is a good example of how a season builds up: it opened at DCGP11 Round 1 Long Beach and ran through Donington, Poznan, Lausitzring and Teesside to a final at DCGP11 Round 6 Daytona. We list all six rounds, so you can install the whole season as one track pack.

How league drifters build a pack for a server

An Assetto Corsa server only runs the cars and track it is set up with, and every driver who joins needs the same files on their own PC. That is why leagues and crews think in packs rather than single mods. Here is how most of them go about it:

  1. Pick one car pack. Everyone drives cars with the same physics base. A league running VDC events uses VDC 4.0; a street crew might pick BDC Street V5.
  2. Pick tracks for the season or the night. Comp nights use league layouts with clear clipping zones, such as ESDA Tsukuba 2024 or ISDCC Season 2 Round 1 Okayama. Free roam nights use open parks and touge.
  3. Agree on versions. Many tracks list Custom Shaders Patch support or need it. If one driver has an older version of a track than the server, they may not be able to join.
  4. Share the list. Leagues post their pack list or download links in Discord. Content Manager's official page lists missing content download as part of its online mode, and server admins can share tracks and cars with drivers through the Content Manager wrapper, which helps when a driver is missing something.
  5. Keep it lean. Small packs mean short downloads and fewer drivers missing files.

How to install a modpack with Content Manager

Content Manager is a custom launcher for Assetto Corsa. Its official page lists content installation and management for cars, skins and other content among its features, and it comes in a free Lite version and a Full version for supporters. A modpack is just several mods, so you install each archive in turn:

  1. Install Custom Shaders Patch if you have not yet. Its official page marks which versions are recommended, which are untested and which are buggy, so pick a recommended one unless a mod asks for newer.
  2. Download every item in the pack into one folder, so you can tick them off as you go.
  3. Drag the first archive onto the Content Manager window and follow the install prompt.
  4. Repeat for each car pack and track. Install car packs before you test tracks, so you have something to drive.
  5. Open Drive, then Quick Drive, and check each track and car shows up. For tracks with several layouts, each layout appears as its own option.

Installing by hand works too: car folders go in assettocorsa/content/cars and track folders go in assettocorsa/content/tracks, one level deep. Our step-by-step guide on how to install Assetto Corsa mods covers the folder paths, skins and the common errors in detail.

Drift mod packs and JDM car packs

Search for "assetto corsa drift mod pack" and you will find everything from single car packs to huge bundles of hundreds of cars. Bigger is not better: huge bundles mix cars with very different physics and take ages to load. Two or three good car packs and a short track list are easier to manage and share.

If you want a "JDM car pack", start with what you already own or can add officially. The Japanese Pack DLC on Steam adds seven cars in twelve versions, including the Toyota AE86 Trueno and Supra MK IV with drift versions, the Mazda RX-7 Spirit R and the Nissan GT-R R34 Skyline V-Spec. It is also a requirement for BDC V4, so it is worth having. Pair it with Japanese venues and touge, such as Ebisu Complex and Kurayoshi Touge, for a Japan-themed pack.

Keep your modpack tidy

  • One version of each mod. Delete old versions before installing a new one, so Content Manager does not show two copies.
  • Support the creators. Many tracks have a fuller version on the creator's Patreon. Kurayoshi Touge's free v1.1 has one of three layouts, for example.

Drift a real car too? The setup ideas you try in the sim come from springs and dampers in real life, so have a look at our coilovers when you are ready.

FAQ

What is a modpack in Assetto Corsa?

It is a group of mods installed together, usually a car pack plus a set of tracks. Leagues use them so every driver on a server has the same cars and layouts.

Are Assetto Corsa modpacks free?

Many are. Every track and car pack in our drift mods collection is a free download from its creator. Some creators also sell fuller versions through Patreon.

How do I install an Assetto Corsa mod pack?

Install each archive in the pack with Content Manager by dragging it onto the window, or copy cars into assettocorsa/content/cars and tracks into assettocorsa/content/tracks. Install Custom Shaders Patch first if any mod needs it.

What is the best drift mod pack for beginners?

Start small: one street spec car pack such as BDC Street V5 and a few practice tracks like Drift Playground and BDC Twin Tandem. Add pro spec cars and comp layouts later.

Do I need the same mods as the server?

Yes. You need the same car and track files the server runs. Content Manager lists missing content download as part of its online mode, but having the league's pack installed ahead of time is easier.
