This SPL Parts listing covers the Spl Part GT500 / 2020 GT350 Mustang Front Tension Rods. Lowering, lifting or hard driving changes suspension geometry, and arms like this are how most modified cars get their alignment back into range.

Quick facts

  • Brand: SPL Parts
  • Position: Front
  • SKU: 8ZSAQ

Specifications

  • Using a mixture of billet 2024-T351 aluminum, stainless steel, chromoly steel, and titanium results in strong, adjustable arms that are 3.0 lbs lighter than the stock aluminum GT500 arms.
  • Our 360° aluminum clamp design allows for fast, precise on-car adjustment by simply loosening two titanium Allen head cap screws and turning the arm.
  • 6061-T6 360° Clamps
  • MCS internal resevoir 2-way adjustable shocks (2WNR / TT2), and potentially other struts/coilovers that extend well below the OEM length when installed, can lead to issues clearing our mounting studs.

Good to know

  • Sold as a pair.
  • Each knuckle variant may have different conical tapered seats where the front control arms mount.
  • It is VERY IMPORTANT to verify the supplied conical tapered spacer fits snuggly into the knuckle, has near zero lateral end play (as-in it will not rock within the bore), and seats fully into the knuckle when installed at the proper torque value.

Listed fitment

  • 2020 - 2022 Shelby GT500
  • 2020 Shelby GT350 / GT350R

  • We have specific tension rods for those fitments: 2015 - 2019 Shelby GT350 / GT350R Tension Rods

Tip: Plan an alignment after installing new arms.

Before you order: fitment and setup

If your tires are wearing unevenly after a drop or lift, or the alignment shop runs out of adjustment, this is the kind of part that fixes it.

Fitment notes

  • Specs, lead time and warranty come from SPL Parts and can change. The details above this guide are the latest we have.

Not sure it fits? Message us your car's details and we'll double-check fitment with the supplier before you buy.

Ask about fitment

Plan the whole job

  • An alignment after installing new arms or bushings.
  • Matching parts at the other end. Upgrading one side or one link and leaving worn parts elsewhere limits the improvement.
  • Install tools. Pressed-in bushings may need a press or a shop to fit them.

Questions

Will this fit my car?
Check the product title and details for the vehicles it is listed for. If you are not sure, contact us with your year, make, model and trim and we will confirm fitment with the supplier before you order.
Do I need an alignment after installing this?
If the part changes or affects suspension geometry, yes. It is a good idea after any arm, link or bushing change.
Can I install it myself?
Many bolt-on parts can be installed at home with the right tools and a safe way to support the car. Pressed bushings and anything you are unsure about are best left to a shop.
Where do specs and warranty details come from?
