SF Racing's Track Coilovers for the 1991-1995 Volvo 850 (LS854/LW855) use firmer, track-focused valving for drivers who want sharper response and more control, while staying usable on the street.

1991-1995 Volvo 850 setup details

Both ends use a true coilover layout, with the spring sitting on the damper body at every corner. Damper bodies are 52mm front and 50mm rear. It comes with 8.3 kg/mm (about 465 lb/in) springs up front and 5 kg/mm (about 280 lb/in) at the rear. Damping is 1-way: a single knob with 32 settings changes rebound and compression together, which keeps tuning quick.

Features

  • Monotube dampers, which shed heat well and hold their damping under hard use
  • 32 damping settings on a single knob that sets rebound and compression together
  • Separate lower-mount (length) adjustment, so height changes don't preload the spring
  • Anodized T6-6061 aluminum top mounts, spring perches and collars for corrosion resistance
  • Zinc-plated shock bodies for rust protection
  • SAE9254 cold-wound springs
  • NOK seals and Italian IP damping oil (20W)
  • Built-in dust boots and bump stops
  • Bolt-on install with no modifications, unless the notes below say otherwise
  • Ride height lowers roughly 1 to 2.5 inches below stock (SF Racing's figure) without giving up suspension travel

Who it suits

A good fit for dual-duty cars that commute during the week and hit the track on weekends.

Before you order: Volvo 850 fitment and setup

This SF Racing kit replaces the factory springs and shocks on the 1991-1995 Volvo 850 with a height-adjustable coilover at each corner, so you set the ride height instead of living with a fixed drop.

Fitment notes

  • Listed for: 1991-1995 Volvo 850 (LS854/LW855).
  • Model years: 1991-1995. Check your car's year falls inside this range.

  • Specs, lead time and warranty come from SF Racing and can change. The details above this guide are the latest we have.

Not sure it fits? Send us your year, make, model, trim and drivetrain and we'll check with the supplier before you order.

Plan the whole job

  • An alignment. Any change in ride height changes camber and toe. Set your final height first, then align.
  • Camber and toe adjustment. Bigger drops often need adjustable arms or camber plates to align properly. See alignment and camber kits.
  • Wheel and tire clearance. Check clearance at full lock and full compression, especially with wider wheels. Our ride height and wheel fitment calculator shows how much drop and offset change you are planning.
  • The right spring rate. Compare the rates listed here with what our spring rate calculator suggests for your car's weight and use.

Questions about Volvo 850 coilovers

Will this fit my Volvo 850?
It is listed for the 1991-1995 Volvo 850 (LS854/LW855). Check your year, model, drivetrain and chassis code against the product title. If anything is different, contact us and we will confirm fitment with the supplier before you order.
Do I need an alignment after installing coilovers?
Yes. Changing ride height changes camber and toe. Set your final height, let the suspension settle, then get the car aligned.
How low can I go?
It depends on the adjustment range the brand lists, your wheels and tires, and how you use the car. Most cars that are driven hard work best with a modest drop that leaves enough suspension travel.
Where do specs and warranty details come from?
From SF Racing. We sell parts from several brands and suppliers, and each one sets its own specs, lead times and warranty terms. The product details above are the latest we have.
