The front eye of a leaf spring locates the axle fore and aft, so a tired bushing here lets the axle shift under acceleration and braking. It suits trucks and leaf-sprung vehicles used on the street, for towing or off-road.

Replacing worn bushings is one of the more cost-effective ways to restore how a car drives, because the parts themselves are inexpensive compared with the arms, links and brackets they support. It also makes sense to inspect neighboring bushings and ball joints while the suspension is apart, since they have usually covered the same miles.

Factory rubber bushings are tuned for comfort, and over time heat, oil and age make them crack, sag and tear. Once that happens the arm or component they hold can move around more than the engineers intended, which shows up as clunks, vague steering, uneven tire wear or a car that feels loose over rough roads.

Key features

Rear position: designed for the rear suspension

Part type: leaf spring bushing

Fitment

See the fitment details from the manufacturer before ordering.

Install notes

These bushings press into their housings, so you may need a hydraulic press, or a shop with one, to fit them.
