It suits restorations and regularly driven classics whose original bar mounts have hardened or split. Mount bushings are the clamps that hold the sway bar to the body or subframe, and they decide how much of the bar's twist actually reaches the chassis. When mount bushings harden, crack or wear oval, the bar can shift in its brackets, which shows up as clunks over bumps and a slow, vague response when you turn in. Fresh bushings also help keep the bar centered in its brackets so it loads evenly from side to side. Bracket bolts on older vehicles can be stubborn, so allow some extra time and penetrating oil for the job.

Key features

Front sway bar mount bushings

Shared fitment across MG, Austin Healey and Austin models from 1955 to 1980

Fitment

1955-1962 Austin A30 Base

1962-1964 Austin A60 Base

1958-1967 Austin Healey Sprite Base

1961 Austin Healey Sprite MK II

1966-1970 Austin Healey Sprite MK IV

1962-1974 MG MGB GT, Base

1975-1980 MG MGB MK IV

1973-1976 MG MGB V-8

Check your year, trim and drivetrain against the list above before ordering.
