The strut bar links the lower control arm to the chassis and stops the arm moving fore and aft. The bushing where it meets the arm sees every braking and acceleration load, so wear there shows up as clunks and a front end that shifts under braking. It is a good fit for anyone bringing a high-mileage car back to how it should feel, as well as for spirited street driving. If your car clunks over speed bumps, darts under braking or has started eating the edges of its front tires, worn bushings in this area are a likely cause and worth inspecting.

Key features

Front suspension position, as listed by SuperPro

Pitched by SuperPro as a quieter, longer-lasting and higher-quality alternative to rubber bushings

Listed SKU: 05X6D

Listed for 5 vehicle applications

Fitment

1989-1992 Volvo 740 Base

1989-1990 Volvo 740 GL

1985-1990 Volvo 740 GLE

1991-1992 Volvo 740 T

1985 Volvo 745 GLE

Check your year, trim and drivetrain against the list above before ordering.

Install notes

Plan on access to a press, or book shop time, since pressed-in bushings can need one to fit.
