It suits restorations and classic Alfas that still see regular road use, where worn bushings let the front wheels shuffle under braking. A front strut bar, sometimes called a tension or radius rod, braces the lower arm fore and aft, and its chassis bushing absorbs braking loads. A worn bushing here lets the wheel move back under braking, which can cause shimmy, pulling and wandering. Replacing both sides together keeps the car pulling evenly under brakes. Check the strut bar itself for bends or rust while it is off the car. On older cars these bushings are often the original parts and have usually hardened or split by now. A front-end alignment check after the job is a good idea, because the strut bar affects caster as well as fore-aft location.

Key features

Front strut bar to chassis mount bushings

Offered by SuperPro as an alternative to the original rubber bushings

Intended to be quieter and longer lasting than the rubber parts it replaces

Fitment

1975-1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT, Sport

Check your year, trim and drivetrain against the list above before ordering.
