The strut bar, or tension rod, controls fore-aft movement of the lower arm. Its chassis mount bushings take braking loads, so worn ones show up as clunks and shimmy when stopping. It suits street cars and weekend track or autocross use.

Strut bar mount bushings sit where the tension rod meets the chassis. They control how far the wheel can move backward under braking and over bumps.

It makes sense to compare the old and new parts side by side before installing, so you can confirm you have the correct piece for your location.

Key features

Fits the front suspension

Made to replace factory rubber bushings

Aimed at quieter operation and a longer service life than rubber

Fitment

Honda Civic: 1988-1991

Honda CRX: 1988-1991

Honda Prelude: 1988-1991

Check your year, trim and drivetrain against the list above before ordering.

Install notes

These bushings press into their housings, so a hydraulic press or a suspension shop may be needed to fit them.
