Control arm bushings are the pivots that let each arm swing while holding the wheel in line. When they soften or crack, the arm can shift under braking and cornering, which shows up as vague steering, clunks and uneven tire wear. Drivers who enjoy back roads or run the car at autocross events will feel the change most. Replacing the bushings rather than the whole arm keeps the original arm in service. Original rubber at these pivots tends to crack and sag with age and mileage. Fresh bushings help the front end hold its alignment settings under load. A worn pivot here often shows up first as a clunk when braking hard or pulling away. Old bushings that are cracked, split or visibly distorted are due for replacement.

Key features

Position: front suspension

Part: Control Arm Upper-Inner Bushing

Product type: suspension control arm bushing kit

Fitment

Lexus IS300: 2001-2005 Base; 2002-2005 Sportcross

Check your year, trim and drivetrain against the list above before ordering.
