On a leaf spring rear end, the spring eyes and shackles pivot on bushings as the suspension moves. When those bushings wear, the axle can shift under load, which is felt as clunks, a loose rear end when towing, or squeaks over bumps. Leaf spring bushings let the spring flex and the shackle swing while keeping the axle in place. Fresh bushings help the rear of the truck feel more controlled, particularly with weight in the bed or a trailer on the hitch. This is a good match for owners who drive on and off road and want the suspension to stay tight under load. Pay attention to new noises or changes in steering feel over the first few drives, and recheck fasteners if anything seems off. Torque suspension fasteners with the vehicle at normal ride height where the service manual calls for it, so new bushings are not preloaded in a twisted position.

Key features

Rear leaf spring forward eye bushing kit

For 2WD Silverado 1500

Manufacturer part number SPF5586K

Fitment

1999-2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2WD

Check your year, trim and drivetrain against the list above before ordering.

https://lowerhq.com/products/superpro-99-21-chevrolet-silverado-1500-2wd-rear-leaf-spring-forward-eye-bushing-kit-spf5586k
