Control arm bushings sit at the pivots where each control arm meets the chassis, so they keep the wheel located as the suspension travels up and down. Fresh bushings are an affordable way to firm up an older car that knocks over bumps or drifts off line when you brake. It is a good match for street cars and older vehicles where the steering has gone vague or clunky. If the car clunks over bumps or pulls and wanders under braking, the control arm bushings are one of the first places to look.

Key features

Prothane control arm bushing, sold under SKU 04Q51

An inexpensive fix for clunks over bumps and wandering under braking

Well suited to older cars whose original bushings have worn out

Listed for 5 applications from BMW, model years 1966 to 1976

Fitment

1966-1976 BMW 2002 Base

1971-1974 BMW 2002 Cabriolet

1973-1974 BMW 2002 Turbo

1968-1971 BMW 2002ti Base

1971-1974 BMW 2002tii Base

Check your year, trim and drivetrain against the list above before ordering.

Install notes

Where your vehicle uses pressed-in bushings, you will need a press to fit them, or a shop that has one.
